SXU ranked among top 25 percent in U.S. News & World Report’s 2011 “Best Colleges in the Midwest”
SXU’s fifth consecutive year in top 25 percent
Chicago (Aug. 17, 2010) Saint Xavier University is ranked among the top 25 percent of all Midwest master’s comprehensive universities for the fifth consecutive year, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2011 ranking for “Best Colleges in the Midwest.”.
SXU is ranked 34th of 142 regional colleges and it is ranked fifth in Illinois. Rankings are based on a set of metrics that are said to reflect a postsecondary institution’s quality.
SXU also advanced in the “Economic Diversity” ranking to ninth in 2011. This ranking measures the percentage of students with high financial need. SXU also ranks ninth in "Racial Diversity."
“We are proud of the fact that Saint Xavier University achieves high rankings both for its quality and for its economic diversity,” said President Christine M. Wiseman, J.D. “Consistent with the rich heritage of our Sisters of Mercy sponsors, we work hard to ensure that our quality programs are accessible to talented students, regardless of their economic backgrounds.”
