Chicago (Sept. 28, 2010) A Paste Magazine poll recently named WXAV 88.3FM, Saint Xavier University's student-run radio station, one of the 40 best low-wattage stations in the country.

Paste, a monthly alternative music magazine, praised WXAV for its broad range of programming, airing everything from the Sisters of Mercy-produced public affairs show “God Matters” to heavy-metal. Read the full list here.

“This national recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the WXAV staff," said Peter Kreten, Assistant Director of Campus Life for Student Media and WXAV General Manager. "This is a tremendous honor to be recognized with so many other great radio stations.”

Indie-rock trio Eastern Conference Champions recently performed live on WXAV. The group, comprised of Joshua Ostrander (vocals, guitar), Greg Lyons (drums) and Melissa Dougherty (bass), has a new album titled "SPEAK-AHH" due out later this year. Ostrander performed their hit song "A Million Miles an Hour," which was featured in "Twilight: Eclipse."
