Clark with the Shield of Saint Xavier.Chicago (March 30, 2010) Saint Xavier University raised more than $325,000 for student scholarships at its 25th Annual President’s Scholarship Ball on March 20. Nearly 500 guests attended an evening of dining and dancing at the Hilton Chicago’s historic Grand Ballroom.
SXU President-designate Christine Wiseman, J.D. hosted the reception prior to dinner.
Interim President and Provost Angela Durante, Ph.D., presented ComEd Chairman and CEO Frank M. Clark with the Shield of Saint Xavier, the University’s highest honor. Clark was recognized for his leadership roles at ComEd and Exelon, and his long history of personal commitment to civic organizations.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors and friends who support higher education and by doing so make a significant difference in the academic careers of our students,” Durante said. “The Saint Xavier community is proud to recognize Frank Clark for his exemplary record of service and professional accomplishments. Likewise, we thank the Ball’s chairs, Trustee John J. Benish Jr. ’98 and Christie Benish, for their efforts toward making this event an extraordinary success.”
All proceeds from the Ball go to the Presidential Scholarship Program, which provides financial support to Saint Xavier’s most deserving students. The Ball has raised millions of dollars for students during its 25-year history.
