SXU President Christine M. Wiseman, J.D., to give first 2010-11 Theology South lecture
"How Faith Influences Leadership" on Oct. 7 at Chicago campus
Chicago (Sept. 14, 2010) Saint Xavier University President Christine M. Wiseman, J.D., will give the first lecture in the 2010-11 "Theology South: A Forum for Thought" lecture series from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 7 in the Warde Academic Center's Butler Reception Room at the University's Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
The lecture open to the public and costs $6. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m. and a question and answer session will follow the lecture.
Wiseman's lecture, titled "How Faith Influences Leadership," will rely on personal memoir and the vision of social justice grounded in the Gospel of Jesus and the life of the Church to explore how claims of faith influence leadership in these challenging times. Department of Religious Studies Chair Avis Clendenen, D.Min, Ph.D., will give a short visual presentation before the lecture.
Wiseman is SXU’s 19th president. She has spent nearly 30 highly successful years in Catholic higher education, previously serving as Provost and Professor of Law at Loyola University of Chicago.
