Meet with local author Camesha B. Jackson on Sun., July 29

Chicago (July 11, 2012) Saint Xavier University will host a book release for the children's story “The Boy Who Cried CAN’T” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sun., July 29. The event will take place in the Butler Reception Room, located in the Warde Academic Center at SXU’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. The event is free and open to the public.

“The Boy Who Cried CAN’T” is an inspirational story about a third grader named Chris who has a gift but is unable to see it within himself because he’s afraid of what others may think. Author Camesha B. Jackson, a 2010 SXU alumna, will read the book aloud and meet with the audience. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. The event also includes arts and crafts for children, raffles, goodie bags, and more.

Jackson hails from Calumet Park and resides in Chicago's south side. She earned a master's degree in elementary education from SXU and works as a Chicago Public Schools teacher at Ruggles Elementary School.
