Learn about Christian, Muslim and Jewish perspectives at SXU's Sixth Annual Interfaith Expo

"Spirituality and Human Development" on Mon., April 9

Chicago (March 29, 2012) Saint Xavier University will host its Sixth Annual Interfaith Expo, "Spirituality and Human Development," on Mon., April 9 in the Butler Reception Room located in the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St. The event will feature Christian, Muslim, and Jewish perspectives, with an open exhibition from noon to 4 p.m. and a panel discussion from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Speakers at the panel discussion, titled "Spirituality and Human Development: Insights into the Contribution of Religions and Spiritual Traditions to Human Well-Being," will include:
• Graziano Marcheschi, SXU’s executive director of University Ministry
• Jane Ramsey, executive director of The Jewish Council on Urban Affairs
• Michael Abdul-Malik Ryan, chaplain for Muslim Life at DePaul University Ministry

The event also will include a documentary presented by Interfaith Youth Core and an interfaith discussion workshop facilitated by Maham Khan, freelance journalist and multimedia producer.

A lunch of Middle Eastern hummus and falafel sandwiches will be offered to all attendees.
