SXU announces new Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police

Jack Touhy will begin serving at SXU this summer

Chicago (May 22, 2012) Saint Xavier University is pleased to announce that Jack Touhy has accepted the position of Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police. Touhy will begin working at SXU this summer, and a start date will be announced shortly.

Touhy comes to SXU after a 30-year career with the Burbank Police Department, where he served as Division Chief – Captain of Detectives/Support Services, Division Chief – Captain of Operations/Patrol Division, Acting Division Chief of the Uniform Division, and as a lieutenant and a sergeant. He earned a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Governors State University. He also studied at the FBI National Academy and at Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command.

"Saint Xavier University's Public Safety Department has a bright future with Mr. Touhy in command and I look forward to our continued collaboration in support of our students’ success," said Vice President for Student Affairs John Pelrine. "I'd also like to publicly thank Captain Chuck Frazzini for his highly professional and steady leadership of the department for the past year."
