Conference to host senior projects
Chicago (April 18, 2008) Saint Xavier University will host its Sixth Annual Honors Program Conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 in the SXU Butler Reception Room, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
The conference will showcase senior projects from the Honors Program’s 2008 graduating class. Projects represent a wide range of disciplines, including biology, communication, education, literature, philosophy, communication sciences and disorders, music, nursing and political science.
Session 1, “Biological Inquiry: Research in Endocrinology, Pharmacology and Oral Health.”
Session 2, “Interrogating the Cultural Issues of our Time: Bilingualism, Obesity and Diabetes, Magazines and Body Image, the Government of Iran,” will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Session 3, “Odyssey Across the Humanities: Musical Performance, Young Adult Literature, Plato’s Republic, Wrigleyville,” will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The luncheon and awards begin at 12:45.
The SXU Honors Program offers an enriched academic experience to talented and highly motivated students. Honors students may pursue any undergraduate major in the School of Arts and Sciences, Education, Management and Nursing.
