SXU Chapel Choir will lead music at 11th Annual Mass for College Students
Cardinal Francis George will celebrate mass on Feb. 24 at Chicago’s Holy Name Cathedral
Chicago (Feb. 16, 2010) Saint Xavier University’s Chapel Choir will lead the music at the 11th Annual Mass for College Students with Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago, on Wed., Feb. 24.
Mass will be held at Chicago’s Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St. Reconciliation will be available from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and mass begins at 7 p.m. A reception will follow on the 15th floor of Kasbeer Hall at Loyola University, 25 E. Pearson St.
Cardinal George celebrates the mass each year with students from across the greater Chicago area, and attendees will be able to meet with the Cardinal afterwards.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Saint Xavier to share our Chapel Choir, which we are blessed to experience at every Sunday Student Mass, with Cardinal George and other colleges,” said Director of Campus Ministry Esther Sanborn. “Our choir has grown tremendously in numbers, talent and spirit over the last few years, especially under the direction of Allen and Patti Stock.”
