SXU to host early childhood development conference
“Early Childhood Today: Building Our Future One Child at a Time” on March 3 at Orland Park campus
Chicago (Feb. 16, 2010) Saint Xavier University will host an early childhood development conference for parents, caregivers and professionals from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wed., March 3 at its Orland Park Campus, 18230 Orland Parkway.
The conference, “Early Childhood Today: Building Our Future One Child at a Time,” will host several workshops geared toward people shaping the lives of children ages birth to eight.
The workshops will address five different themes, including: social and emotional; speech and language; accommodations; early literacy; and health and wellness. Scheduled workshops include “Got Dirt: Growing Healthy Kids,” “Classroom Adaptations,” “Engaging the Brain,” “Phonemic Fun,” “Working Together” and many more.
Pre-registration is required, and all participants must register online. On-site and phone registration is not allowed. Seats are limited, and registration is accepted based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration costs $35 and includes session materials, continental breakfast and lunch. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. the day of the conference. Childcare is not available at the conference. Families with special needs children up to eight years old may apply for a reimbursement stipend by visiting STAR NET’s Web site or calling (708) 342-5370.
Co-sponsors include STAR NET Region VI and Saint Xavier University, in collaboration with SSAEYC, SPEED Cooperative, Good Shepherd Center and the Early Intervention Training Program.
STAR NET is an approved provider for Continuing Professional Development Units through the Illinois State Board of Education and continuing education for speech-language pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and physical therapists through the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

I must say, when it comes to education - St. Xavier's organization is always a step further. A very nice approach by the university of encouraging and helping children to gain quality education.
It's perfect time to make some plans for the future and it is time to be happy. I've read this post and if I
