SXU to host Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Combo Spring Concert

Listen to works by George Gershwin, Pierre Attaignant and more

Chicago (March 23, 2011) Saint Xavier University’s Department of Music presents its Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Combo Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., March 25 in McGuire Hall, located in the Chicago campus’ Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St.

Musicians in SXU’s Guitar Ensemble will perform the works of Pierre Attaignant, Leonard de Call, John Dowland, John Duarte, William Duncombe, and Tielman Susato. SXU’s Jazz Combo will perform selections by Chick Corea, Jimmy Davis, George Gershwin, Herbie Hancock, Morgan Lewis, and Stanley Turrentine.
