Banker and alum Darrell B. Jackson to speak at SXU’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration

President of Personal Financial Services – Illinois to speak at 4:30 p.m., Jan. 19 at Chicago campus

Chicago (Jan. 15, 2010) Saint Xavier University alumnus Darrel B. Jackson ‘81, president of Personal Financial Services – Illinois, will speak at Saint Xavier University’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration.

Jackson will give a lecture titled “What Happens to a Dream Deferred?” at 4:30 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 19 in the Warde Academic Center’s Butler Reception Room at the University’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. The event is open to the public.

Jackson is a career banker with nearly 30 years experience in the industry. He previously was Deputy Head of Private Client Services – Illinois and Head of Private Client Services, Suburban Illinois at The Northern Trust Company, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Trust Company’s Illinois West Suburban Region and a Senior Vice President and Division Manager in Private Banking at the Northern Trust Company in Chicago.

Jackson serves on the Boards of the Illinois Banker's Association and the Morton Arboretum. He is a member of the Union League Club and The Graham School of Management Advisory Council at Saint Xavier. He previously served on the following boards: Executives Breakfast Club of Oakbrook, the Conservation Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, The Chicago Child Care Society, The Cosmopolitan Chamber of Commerce, The Children’s Inner City Educational Fund, the Dave Duerson Foundation, ETA Creative Arts Foundation, Inc., Junior Achievement of Chicago, The Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Saint Xavier University.

Darrell received The Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Award from The Boys and Girls Club of Chicago in 2004. He also was voted one of the 40 Leaders of Color by Chicago United in 2003.

Darrell received a B.A. degree from Saint Xavier and a M.B.A. degree from the Kellogg Executive Masters Program at Northwestern University.
