Network TV News Anchor Cokie Roberts to speak at SXU

Tickets still available for Oct. 21 lecture

Chicago (Oct. 8, 2010) Tickets are still available to see former network news anchor and ABC political analyst Cokie Roberts, the next featured lecturer in the SXU Voices & Visions Speaker Series at Saint Xavier University. Roberts will speak at 7 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 21 in the Shannon Center at the Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.
General admission tickets are $15 plus a nominal service charge. A limited number of $200 priority tickets are available, which include priority seating and admission to an exclusive post-lecture wine and cheese reception with Roberts. Purchase tickets online or call (866) 468-3401.

Admission is free for Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff, who must reserve a ticket online. A valid Cougar Card must be presented the night of the lecture with the ticket. Prior to her lecture, Roberts will participate in an exclusive classroom discussion with Saint Xavier students.

Cokie Roberts brings a practiced political eye and keen perspective to the issues currently facing lawmakers in her lecture “An Insider’s View of Washington, D.C. with Cokie Roberts.”

Roberts is senior news analyst for National Public Radio and a political analyst for ABC News. She co-anchored the weekly ABC interview program This Week from 1996 to 2002. Roberts has won numerous awards, including three Emmys, in her more than 40 years in broadcasting. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, and was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the 50 greatest women in the history of broadcasting. The Library of Congress this year named her a “Living Legend.”
