More than 300 attend SXU’s fifth annual Health Fair

Participants get free health screenings, prizes

Chicago (April 8, 2008) More than 300 people attended Saint Xavier University’s fifth annual Health Fair on March 28 in SXU’s Shannon Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

Attendees enjoyed free health screenings and information, mini-massages and refreshments. More than 40 people won raffle prizes donated by local vendors, such as gift certificates, gym memberships, healthy eating cookbooks and exercise equipment. Heartland Blood Centers was also on-site for those who wished to donate blood. The event was co-sponsored by the Shannon Center and SXU’s Health Center.

“The Health Fair helped reach out to the surrounding community with information about healthy and active lifestyles,” said Jennifer Kjos, facility manager of Saint Xavier University’s Shannon Center and organizer of the event.
