Concert to take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5 in McDonough Chapel

Chicago (Nov. 24, 2008) Saint Xavier University’s Flute Choir will pair with the Women of Distinction Choral Ensemble to present “Christmas at Saint Xavier – A Concert of Seasonal Music” at 7:30 pm on Friday, Dec. 5 in McDonough Chapel on SXU’s Chicago Campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.

The group will perform a variety of Christmas music ranging from Renaissance to the present day. Arrangements will include popular titles like “O’ Holy Night,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies” and traditional carols.

SXU professors Martha M. Morris, MM, and Jan Bickel, DMA, will conduct the performance. Morris will direct the flute choir, and Bickel will direct the Women of Distinction Choral Ensemble.

“There is something for everyone on this concert from the rich colors of the flute choir family to the lovely tones of the small women’s vocal ensemble,” Bickel said. “This concert will put everyone in the spirit of the season.”

General admission is $6 and $5 for seniors and visiting students. SXU students, faculty and staff can attend for free with a valid university ID.
