SXU’s Theology South lecture series continues
Professor to speak on Jungian Perspectives in Hildegard
Chicago (March 11, 2009) Avis Clendenen, PhD. will discuss the influence of medieval theologian Hildegard on the work of psychiatrist Carl Jung as part of Saint Xavier University’s Theology South lecture series at 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, in SXU’s Butler Reception Room, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago, IL.
In her lecture, “Hildegard in Jung: Encountering a Wise Old Woman & a Wise Old Man,” Clendenen will discuss the correlation between Hildegard and Jung. A question and answer session will follow.
Clendenen is chair of the Religious Studies Department at SXU and is the author of Experiencing Hildegard: Jungian Perspectives and coauthor (with Troy W. Martin) of Forgiveness: Finding Freedom through Reconciliation.
