Author of “Chicago Warriors” thriller series to sign new book at SXU

John Wills ’81, author of “Gripped by Fear,” to sign books on Oct. 15

Chicago (Oct. 1, 2009) Author and Saint Xavier alumnus John Wills ’81 will be the guest of honor at the University’s first Alumni Author Book Signing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Gilhooley’s Grande Saloon, 3901 W. 103rd St. in Chicago.

Wills will sign copies of his new novel Gripped by Fear, the second book in his Christian-themed Chicago Warriors thriller series, which will be available for purchase at the event. The narrative continues the adventures of officers Pete Shannon and Marilyn Benson as they work the graveyard shift on the “mean streets” of Chicago.

"I'm excited about coming home to Saint Xavier to introduce my latest novel to friends and family,” Wills said. “The University played a major role in my character and faith, which is why I mention the school in my books."

Wills, a former Chicago Police Officer and FBI agent, began writing professionally five years ago. He is a former co-editor of Suspense Thriller Zine and has published more than sixty articles in both print media and online, including sites such as Officer.com and Police & Security News.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
