100% of class of ’09 pass nursing license test
Chicago (Oct. 20, 2009) One-hundred percent of Saint Xavier University’s May 2009 nursing program graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses.
All of Saint Xavier’s 44 graduates passed the examination, compared to the average rate of 88.91 percent of first-time candidates educated in the United States. NCLEX exams are developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, and designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry-level.
The School of Nursing earned another perfect score on the most recent University job placement survey, given to bachelor recipients within a year of graduation - 100 percent of Saint Xavier School of Nursing graduates were employed full-time within a year of graduation.
“These results are testament to both the excellence of Saint Xavier’s School of Nursing, the caliber of its instructors and the dedication and work ethic of our students,” said School of Nursing Dean Gloria Jacobson, R.N., Ph.D.
Saint Xavier is one of only 15 universities in the country to receive the prestigious "Center of Excellence" designation by the National League of Nursing.
