SXU Backs the Bid, gathers for historic 2016 Olympics announcement at Chicago campus
Community to watch International Olympic Committee coverage in Figaro’s in Regina Hall
Chicago (Oct. 1, 2009) Saint Xavier University community members will gather to watch the International Olympic Committee’s historic announcement on whether Chicago will host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games on Friday, Oct. 2 , at Figaro’s in Regina Hall at the Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.
The IOC voting and city selection begin at 9 a.m. and the announcement of the winning city is expected to take place between 11:30 a.m. and noon. Saint Xavier supports Chicago’s bid for hosting the 2016 games, and the Chicago 2016 Olympic Committee will provide a limited number of t-shirts and giveaways.
