SXU’s 2009-10 Theology South lecture series continues on Dec. 3

“Sacred Traditions: Lessons & Carols of Advent, Signs of Hope in These Troubling Times”

Chicago (Nov. 24, 2009) The Rev. Edward McLaughlin and Kitty Ryan will explore music and reflection at Saint Xavier University’s next Theology South lecture at 9:30 a.m. Thurs., Dec. 3 in Warde Academic Center’s Butler Reception Room at the University’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.

McLaughlin is a retired pastor and Ryan is a Pastoral Associate and Director of Music at Saint Barnabas Parish. Their lecture, “Sacred Traditions: Lessons & Carols of Advent, Signs of Hope in These Troubling Times,” will focus on the value of music and the purpose of reflection in day-to-day life during this Advent season.

The presentation is open to the public and admission is $6. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m., and a brief question and answer session will follow the lecture.
