SXU’s Shannon Center hosts “Turkey Shoot – Family Style” free throw contest on Nov. 20

Families can win Thanksgiving turkeys, meet Cougars basketball players at SXU’s new holiday event

Chicago (Nov. 6, 2009) Families can compete for free Thanksgiving turkeys and meet Cougars basketball players at Saint Xavier University’s first “Turkey Shoot – Family Style” free throw contest from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fri., Nov 20 at the Chicago campus’ Shannon Center, 3700 W. 103rd St.

The Turkey Shoot costs $5 per team at the door. All ages are welcome, but teams must consist of one adult (18 years or old) and one child from the same family. Teams compete by age groups, which are determined by the pair’s combined age. Age groups include 25 & under, 26 to 40, 41 to 61 and 62 & up.

Each team member shoots 10 free throws. The team with the most baskets in each age group wins a gift card for a Thanksgiving turkey for a grand prize.

Attendees also can meet Saint Xavier men’s and women’s basketball players, participate in raffles and receive free tickets to SXU games.
